About the Artwork

I created a custom GPT with knowledge about recursive scripting, Adobe Illustrator, and fractal geometry. In this experiment, I asked the GPT to make a script which creates a symmetrical Apollonian sphere packing, with circles ranging from 1px to 1200px in diameter. The script that was outputted sets up 3 initial circles on an artboard based on an equilateral triangle layout, and then recursively applies the Descartes Circle Theorem to determine the size and position of the next circle in the gasket. This video shows the entire structure that was created. Printing the entire design would be virtually impossible considering how deep the fractal goes, so Ive broken the designs up into smaller pieces and used them as the starting point for the pieces in this collection.
